Forty-two athletes and six coaches represented Kansas at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games held in Seattle, Washington, July 1-6, 2018. More than 4,000 athletes and coaches representing 50 states and the District of Columbia, along with the support of tens of thousands of volunteers and spectators, competed in 14 Olympic-type team and individual sports.

Kacey Dannels (one of our valued McDonald’s of NorthHays team members [national store #4938 located at 3406 Vine Street, Hays, KS] owned by O/Os Richard and Gail Kuehl) qualified to compete in these games. One of Kacey’s local coaches, Noalee McDonald-Augustine, traveled with her along with Kacey’s family members.

Kacey has been a NorthHays team member since September 2014. Kacey took 5th place in the shotput and her 4x100 meter relay team took 6th place overall.

Congratulations to Kacey and the Kansas team on a job well done!
