Morgan Flatley

Morgan Flatley has a reputation for building iconic brands and leading fully-integrated, award-winning marketing programs, as well as insight-driven innovations that respond to the ever-changing landscape of consumer needs. Her intense curiosity for consumer behavior and trends both within and outside the industry enable her to devise creative campaigns and fuel innovations that reach the consumer where they are and with what they need.

As a member of the McDonald’s U.S. Leadership Team, Flatley will play an integral role in the advancing the company’s Bigger, Bolder Vision 2020 growth strategies and overall brand positioning. Specifically, she will be responsible for leading, developing and overseeing execution of fully integrated marketing plans to drive and sustain long-term growth for McDonald’s USA, while expanding and strengthening partnerships externally and internally with franchisees, suppliers and agency partners.

Prior to this role, Flatley served as SVP, Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo’s Global Nutrition Group, where she was responsible for accelerating growth globally for PepsiCo’s flagship nutrition brands – Quaker, Tropicana and Naked. Flatley oversaw the long-term innovation agenda and brand positioning and equity along with efforts to build PepsiCo’s position as a nutrition-led food and beverage company.

Before joining the Global Nutrition Group, Flatley was Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo’s iconic Gatorade brand, and was responsible for shaping marketing efforts to drive its U.S. commercial agenda, leading a team to ensure that every consumer touch point – creative, product, digital, design, retail and experiential – was tightly integrated and true to the purpose of fueling athletic performance. She was also responsible for Gatorade’s long-term innovation pipeline and helped broaden the brand’s offerings to include more performance nutrition options, athlete services and streamlined packaging. During her tenure, Gatorade saw a return to multi-year growth.

Flatley is the architect behind some of Gatorade’s most celebrated marketing campaigns, including Cannes Gold Lion winner and epic farewell tribute to Derek Jeter, “Made in New York”, and CLIO Sports Grand Clio in Social Media for “Super Bowl Snapchat Dunk.” As a result of her leadership and achievements, Flatley has been widely recognized with awards across the industry. Most recently, she was recognized as one of Ad Week’s “30 Most Powerful Women in Sport”, and on Brand Innovators “Top 100 Women in Brand Marketing” list, as well as being named Chicago Advertising Federation’s “2016 Advertising Woman of the Year.” She was also awarded the accolade of Adweek’s 2015 Grand Brand Genius, the publication’s most prestigious award, was selected as a 2015 Sports Business Journal “Game Changer,” and was named one of Ad Age’s 2014 “Women to Watch.”

Prior to Gatorade, Flatley worked on Pepsi’s music platform and at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York where she began honing her skill for developing consumer-led and insight-driven marketing programs.

Flatley is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School, and sits on the board of both the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Women’s Justice Initiative for Guatemala, which is dedicated to preventing and addressing gender-based violence. Flatley is a 2017 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Flatley currently resides in Chicago with her husband and three children.
