Celebrating Everyday Heroes at Essence Festival’s Day of Service

July 6, 2018

Essence Fest

McDonald’s remains committed to the community and celebrating everyday heroes as we return to ESSENCE Festival for the 15th consecutive year.
Participating in the ESSENCE Day of Service is an extension of the brand’s commitment to both the festival and the larger New Orleans community.

Mayor Cantrell and Henry Coaxum
McDonalds’s Owner/Operator, Henry Coaxum, joined New Orleans Mayor, LaToya Cantrell and our Chief Happiness Officer Ronald McDonald, to distribute food to hundreds of volunteers and help rally up everyone for a special day of giving back to the community.

McDonald’s is thrilled to support ESSENCE’s Day of Service in providing delicious and craveable food to the hardworking volunteers who pitched in on various beautification projects.

The brand’s comprehensive strategy around this year’s ESSENCE Fest centers on the phrase, Black Forward, which is all about progressive, forward thinking. We’re inspiring everyone who engages with us to think of ways they will to help push Black culture forward and positively impact the community
