Mike Soenke

Chief Financial Officer

Mike Soenke, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of McDonald’s USA. In this role, Mr. Soenke leads the U.S. Finance organization, including direct oversight of the U.S. Controller Group, Spendsmart in Home Office and indirect oversight of the field finance teams across the 4 Zones and McOpCo. In addition to Finance he is responsible for U.S Restaurant Development and Supply Chain functions. He engages with franchisees through the NLC and co-leadership of the System Economics Team.  In addition, Mr. Soenke represents McDonald’s USA on the Company’s Global Finance People Board, the Global Finance Management Team and is the Treasurer for the Political Action Committee (PAC).
Prior to his current position, he was Vice President and Assistant Controller of McDonald’s Corporation for five years. He also spent a year as Senior Director of Investor Relations, where he was responsible for keeping investors and analysts informed and enthusiastic about McDonald’s.
Mr. Soenke’s career background also includes two years as an Internal Audit Supervisor, two years as an APMEA Finance Director, and a collective 13 years in various roles within the U.S. Business. Two key experiences within the U.S. business include five years as the Regional Controller of the former Los Angeles Region and five years as the Finance Director and then Finance Officer of the Central Division. Mr. Soenke participated in the 2005/2006 Leadership at McDonald’s Program. 
Prior to working at McDonald’s he worked at Ernst & Young for four years in their audit practice. He has his undergraduate degree in accounting from North Central College.
Mr. Soenke lives in the Chicago area with his wife, Mariann, and their four children.
